Curatorial Rigor, Transparent Bidding, and Institutional Settlement
How ArtAlly Timed Auctions Work
1. Curatorial Governance & Authenticity Standard
ArtAlly operates as a curated international auction institution. Unlike open self-publishing marketplaces, no artwork may enter a public sale without passing formal inspection by our Specialist Review Committee. Every lot requires verified artist attribution, explicit condition reporting, and signed provenance declarations.
2. Timed Bidding & Anti-Sniping Protection
All bids are executed through an exclusive, transaction-locked server engine. Minimum bid increments follow institutional tiers: $100 ($0–$999), $250 ($1,000–$4,999), $500 ($5,000–$9,999), $1,000 ($10,000–$24,999), $2,500 ($25,000–$99,999), and $5,000 ($100,000+). When a qualifying bid is placed within the final 5 minutes before a lot’s scheduled close, the closing timestamp automatically extends by 5 minutes.
3. Reserve Prices, Buyer’s Premium & Artist Payouts
Artists may establish a confidential Reserve Price at or above the starting bid. If bidding concludes below the reserve, the lot is recorded as Unsold and remains the property of the artist. On successful sales, a transparent Buyer’s Premium (20%) is added to the hammer price on the buyer’s invoice, and the Seller Commission (15%) is deducted prior to releasing the net artist wire payout.
